Easter Egg Hunt
This year at school the kids participated in an Easter Egg Hunt deep in the woods by the playground. Usually, I choose a more open space, however, due to crowding and temperature, it felt great to be in the shade. I was a little nervous we were going to come across some snakes, but I'm sure the children's squeals and laughter kept them away. Out of my five years teaching, this was my favorite egg hunt. All of the eggs were numbered 1-12 and each student had to find 12 eggs in number order. Some kids zipped through this task, while others searched and searched for their first egg. I stood back and watched as my students would finish, they then would lay down their bunny bags and then race back out to assist a friend with their egg search. They truly are a caring group and get along so well with each other. Afterwards, they all sat on the picnic tables, ate some of their sweet treats and traded their treasures with each other. They really are the BEST first grade class ever!
