Scientist Play Date

Lab coats, goggles and explosions were on tap for last week's play date.  Miss Jodie even rocked mad scientist hair!
After a few experiments the kiddos visited 8 stations to complete on their own.

Molecule building with marshmallows and toothpicks.  Unless you are Will then you just cram as many marshmallows into your mouth as possible.
Tongue out = Serious concentration  (Look! Even P got in on the action.)

Colored ice cubes in some obleck....gooey, colorful fun!

Loved the light box!  The kids loved stacking colors on top of each other and creating new colors.

Baking soda, kool-aid and vinegar makes a pretty colorful experiment too!

The best was the grand finale when a handful of mementos were dropped into a 2 Liter soda bottle.  The explosion was awesome!  Luckily, we did this one outside and the kids squealed with excitement!

Since most of us were teachers, we are getting our fix by hosting fun play dates like these and helping the children explore new things.  This is the fun stuff that I miss :)
