I guess the snow followed us from the mountains and decided to visit the Triangle. It snowed almost the whole day leaving us with about 5 inches! Adam braved the roads and went to work for a couple of hours, while I played with the neighborhood kiddos, took the Nobles family snow portrait and built a snowman with Peyton.Adam came home and made his infamous chili for lunch while we watched the remaining of the Inauguration. It was neat to watch this historic day take place on TV. We later walked across the street to the Moyes for dinner. They had the Nobles, Peczes and us all over to grill out. It was a good way to end the snow day.
Speaking of snow days...I have been out of school for 2 days. As much FUN as the snow has been, we now have to make these days up on two different SATURDAYS! So this weekend while you are sleeping in, I'll be with my first graders discussing MLK, Jr., solids/liquids and hearing about their snow stories. The funny thing is that they have been asked a number of times to write about a time when they have been sledding, or how their family prepares for snow. Each time I receive the same response, "Mrs. Pfanmiller we have never seen snow." "Oh yeah, well use your imagination" has been my response, forgetting that the last big snow that Raleigh received was back in 2000. However, now they will each have their own experience to share! :)
