Ocean Isle Beach hosts an Oyster Festival each year. A couple of years ago, Adam and I went down and participated in the 5K race, so we thought we would do it again this year. Our best friend, Ashley, signed up and raced with us early Saturday morning. My parents and brother stood in the drizzling rain to cheer as we crossed the finish line and take our pictures. What a supportive and sweet fan club we had!
After the race, we all grabbed some breakfast and laid around the beach house. Later in the afternoon the rain finally stopped so we visited the Oyster Festival and went to Sharkey's for some yummy calamari.
The weekend went by real quick, however, it was nice to relax, visit with friends/family and eat some fresh seafood.
