June Catch-Up

These two cuties are enjoying their summer.  Will loves "summer ventures" and likes to ask for the plan each morning when he wakes up.  (AKA Where are we going? Who are we going to see?)  Yes, we like to stay busy! But we don't worry, we have had several PJ days sprinkled in between our summer fun!
Falls Lake continues to be a special place for us.  We also like the fact that we have gained some more boating friends this summer.  We went with the Walkers one evening on their boat and had a great time tubing all afternoon.  Will feel asleep as we were putting in back on the trailer.  He still naps 2-3 hours every day.....high five!
We've also hit up our local rodeo.  Giddy up! I think we had the cutest mini cowboy there! I could just squeeze him :)
The sprayground is always a big hit with my kiddos.  Our neighborhood playgroup met up there and had the whole place to themselves.  We were smart and went before school got out and avoided the camp rush :)

Our small group continues to plan fun events/outings.  We all went to the Durham Bulls game one Friday night and majority of us made it all the way through the awesome fireworks at the end.

Will went out on the boat early one morning with AP, so P and I met up with Blair and Marshall for a 4 mile hike at Umstead.
I guess he was tired from all that walking?!

We love our neighborhood pool.  We try to go at least 3-4 times a week and at least once during the week for dinner, usually for Woodlawn Wednesdays with the rest of our neighborhood friends.

For Father's Day, Adam arranged a camping weekend at Hyco Lake for all the guys in the family.  They missed Uncle Marc, but it appeared they had a great time grilling, boating and enjoying the campground life.
Since all the boys were away, the girls decided to play!  So mom treated us to lunch at Cowfish, pedicures, shopping and then dinner at Cafe Capistrano! Delish!

Will is signed up for 3 half day camps this summer.  He completed "Under the Sea" camp and loved it.  Before we went into the classroom, the boys enjoyed playing at the indoor playground.  Check out P's muscles!
After church one Sunday, we told the boys that we had a "surprise adventure" planned for them.  We drove to the Cary Amtrak station and road to Durham on a real train.  They loved it!  Will talked the whole 20 minute ride and P just stared out the window in amazement.  The fun didn't stop there- we walked around downtown Durham and ate a popular donut store called Monuts.  Afterwards, we walked down to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and told the kids they could pick out new hats or t-shirts.  All the boys came out with new gear.  Since we had some more time before boarding for our return trip.  We grabbed an appetizer/drinks at Tyler's Taproom outside by the water and then rode the train back.  Will thanked so much for such a special day!

The mist station is a popular exhibit at the Life and Science Museum.  Its a great way to cool off in this heat!

A wedding weekend in Wilmington with the family.  Meanwhile the kiddos stayed with Uncle Freddy and Aunt Sue for the night and had fun showing off their bike skills.

We had another fun week at the beach with Mimi and B.  The boys enjoyed swinging with B early in the morning.

We came back into town and we went to the 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Durham Highway Patrol.  The fire department had bounce houses, hot dogs, fire trucks to climb on and more!

Parker gave the party 2 thumbs up!
Afterwards, we took the kids to the Bass Pro Shop and they attended a water safety workshop.  They received a pin for their lanyard and then they picked out new fishing poles.  Will chose a Transformer one and P chose Mickey Mouse.  They can't wait to show Uncle Bob at the lake next week!
Looking forward to July and sharing the news with our families about our twins!  We have names picked out and everything :)
