Adam, Marshall and myself checked out Hanging Rock State Park in Danbury, NC this past weekend. One of my students had mentioned that he hiked a bunch of trails and saw a lot of waterfalls in this park and that I should check it out, so we did! One of our favorite hiking trails led us to the Lower Cascade Falls where a lagoon formed at the bottom. It would be great to lay out and splash around in the hot summer.
Next we decided to hike the Hanging Rock trail which was a mile and 1/2 straight up, however, it was worth the sweat and huffing and puffing once we got to the top, the views were amazing! We could stand on the top of the mountain cliffs and see downtown Winston-Salem below.
