OIB Thanksgiving

Adam and I are thankful for so many things in our lives. One of the most important things on our list is both of our families. How awesome is it that for the 2nd year in a row, both sides get together for Thanksgiving? Not because we ask them but because they actually enjoy each others company and both sets of parents are friends. This year we ate our turkey down at Ocean Isle Beach. Adam and I scooted down after work on Tuesday. We were looking forward to several days relaxing at the beach.

Wednesday morning we did a little geocaching down at the beach. Team Pfanny found 6 more hidden on the island and a couple on the mainland. Mom and Morgan really got into it!

On Turkey Day, Adam was in charge of the frying the turkey in the deep fryer again. You can't beat a fried turkey on Thanksgiving. After we all goobled up lots of food and dessert, we took off for an after dinner boat cruise.

This was the first year in a long time that we didn't participate in the Black Friday madness. Instead we were content with a sleeping in, boating down to Calabash for some lunch and then decorating the boat for the 5th Annual Ocean Isle Beach Flotilla.

The weather tried to ruin our day, however, since we had already decorated the boat we went to the movies and saw Four Christmas. It was a great holiday movie to get you in the Christmas spirit. Later in the evening, with a few raindrops still trying to come down, we piled onto the boat. It was so cool to see all the people that come out to watch and/or participate in this event. The raindrops even stopped by the time the flotilla started. At the end of the night, our boat with the theme, Jimmy Buffet's Christmas placed 3rd! The winner received 2 front row tickets to Buffet's concert in Las Vegas! It was a team effort and we had a great time celebrating our 3rd place at Sharky's that night!

Wow...you guys had a full weekend. Now I feel REALLY bad about doing nothing and eating all weekend -- we didn't even finish putting up the decorations.
